In the summer of 2024, 404MAC. was commissioned by a producer to develop a theatrical piece inspired by  Corpus Christi, Texas. This led him to the voices of the community.

During his research, they met AuQwon Coleman, a former resident of the Hillcrest neighborhood. Coleman shared a personal and devastating experience, how in 2013, he and his family were displaced from their home due to the construction of the city's new Harbor Bridge. This story became the gateway to a much larger truth: the gentrification and displacement affecting Corpus Christi’s communities.

What began as a theatrical commission quickly evolved into The Corpus Christi Projects, an initiative dedicated to creating art that amplifies the stories, culture, and resilience of the city’s people. Despite the hardships uncovered, one theme remained constant in every interview, hope.

From these stories, Hope was born, a theatrical retelling of Corpus Christi’s past and present, highlighting the losses endured while celebrating the unbreakable spirit of its people. The production debuted at Downtown Corpus Christi’s First Friday ArtWalk and was later performed at Celebrate the Arts at the Antonio E. Garcia Arts & Education Center, as well as the Art Museum of South Texas.
